With each episode of Silo that passes, we are hopefully getting closer to answers.
Pete and Mike discuss the recent episode of Silo, where Juliette has a couple of plans in her mind, but how many lives could it cost? Camile confronts Robert about what he has been doing to help Juliette’s people. Lukas Kyle and Patrick Kennedy get sent to Silo 17. In the flashbacks, we still do not get many answers…yet.
In The Past:
During the flashback scenes of the pre-Silo days, Daniel and Helen are asked to sign NDAs to learn what is going on. They meet Per Stenson, played by Colin Hanks, who funds the plan to save the world and is the richest man on the planet. They are given an option: leave and not get the answers they are looking for, or scribble their names a few times and find out the world’s biggest secret.
Daniel and Helen sign the NDAs and are flown to Atlanta, Georgia, then hop into helicopters to reach their destination, where we see a huge drill digging a massive hole in the ground. The beginning stages of the Silos.
During the flight to Atlanta, several characters talk about what is going on, but as viewers, we do not get much information.

Some of the conversations lead to information: the old guy we thought was a government fixer, as it turns out, is not that far off. The doctor treating Daniel’s sister Charlotte has a grim tale of why he started making the memory drugs. Daniel and Charlotte talk for a few moments about how she is doing. Helen is asked to hold the story for about five years; is that how long it will take for the silos to be all built? Per Stenson tells Helen a story that proves he is a decent billionaire, not many of those around the world. Which moment caught you off guard? For me, it was seeing how much better Charlotte looked since the last time we saw her. However, they are still a ways off from getting her back to normal, but will she ever get back to being her full self?
In The Silo:

Juliette has Lukas and Kennedy leave right away to get over to Silo 17. Juliette is told they have to act fast before Camile finds out what is going on, and that the memory drugs are in the water supply; it is only a matter of time before the whole Silo forgets. Kennedy and Kyle head out and see that what they have been seeing on the screens is true; there are no fields of green and blue skies. Of course, it is nighttime, but even then, all they see when they get over the hill is a bunch of death. The same thing Juliette saw on her journey. They keep in contact with Martha and the rest of the crew by using code names, and at one point, Kennedy and Kyle hear buzzing sounds around them. Martha and the team think they hear gunshots; is there a team of people outside, or is it something like drones making the buzzing sound?
Juliette opens the safe at the Sheriff’s office to get something; meanwhile, the Algorithm tells Camille that Kennedy and Kyle have been neutralized. Camile saw the unedited video of Juliette’s walk over to Silo 17, and it showed a bunch of dead bodies. This suggests Silo 17 may have momentarily blocked the Safeguard, which should not happen. The Algorithm also tells Camile that something else might be going on with Juliette and wants to know. Camile visits Juliette, and we see that they both have guns hidden from each other while they chat at her door.
With Camile telling Juliette that Kennedy and Kyle did not make it, Juliette implements another plan. To use the leftover gunpowder from the rebellion, blow up the walls by Judicial, where the pipe with the poison is behind the walls, to release the poison and cap the pipe. Juliette does not like that plan because it could kill around 1,000 people in the area of Judicial before the pipe is capped. Bernard introduces Juliette to Gloria Hildebrandt, who was in the same boat as Juliette because her memories were being suppressed as well. We met Gloria in the past season when Juliette started to discover what was going on around the Silo.
Gloria held the Mission diary; Mission was the name of a porter from 140 years before. He may also have been involved with a group from way back called the Flamekeepers. Mission, at the time of the great rebellion, carried the explosives that blew up some of the stairs during the rebellion. Gloria reads from the diary, and it tells a story about people losing their memories, so much so that people have been throwing themselves off the stairs to their deaths. Quinn Salvador, the head of IT when the entry was written, chose to drug the Silo to prevent a Safeguard. He did not question the poisoning of the people in the Silo, but also calculated after the fact that the terror and disorientation from the drugs resulted in the deaths of 2,000 people. If Juliette does not act on the plan, that might be the cost of the Silo.

Robert Sims helps Juliette with her new plan: they need passes to Judicial. He even uses his own kid in the plan by planting the passes in Anthony’s school jacket. Camile asks Robert to help question the nurse from earlier in the season, but it’s a ruse to get him into a room where the Algorithm cannot hear or see them. She confronts him about Robert using the school jacket in some plan, and even threatens to shoot the nurse if he does not come clean. Meanwhile, the team carrying out the plan to blow up the pipes near Judicial is planting the bombs, but just as the timers are running down, Martha gets a call on the radio. It is Kennedy from Silo 17, saying they had a bit of an issue, but the kids in 17 are all right. Then it was a race against time to cancel the plan to blow up the pipes in Judicial, and just in the nick of time, all the bombs were deactivated.
I thought this episode was one of the better of the season with all that was going on. Will Kennedy and Kyle be able to get the kids back to the Silo, and did they figure out where and how to cap the pipe? Will Robert tell Camile all that he has been doing? Why did the Algorithm not know that Kennedy and Kyle were not killed? How will Daniel and Helen help to save the world?
With only three episodes left this season, we hope to get some of those questions answered. Of course, another season is set to drop later, so we may not get all the answers we want from this series so far.
