Dead City: Season 3, Episode 3 Mashup Podcast:

A great episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City this past weekend.

Pete thought this latest episode of Dead City was one of the best of the series so far. During the episode, Maggie and Renata lighting the Statue of Liberty brings not just one, but two groups of people to their shores. The downside is that both groups are in a battle against each other. This is what Mike and Pete feared in the past Mashup Podcast because you never know who will show up and try to overthrow something good.

Maggie, Renata, Luis, and Hershel all work together to save as many of the wounded as possible. Unfortunately, not everyone could be saved, and the kicker is that the leaders of either group did not want to get along, even with Negan discussing with both of them while playing a game of piñata. Dillard was the one in charge of being blindfolded and tried to hit either of the piñatas while Negan talked with the two leaders. Towards the end of the episode, Maggie, Negan, and Renata gave both groups a choice: to use the scythes on the ground to help make Central Park into farmland, or use the scythes against each other. The people of both groups decided to help; the leaders did not agree and were later seen dead with slashed throats. Some people can not get past the past.

Hershel is proving himself as a good trainee in the medical arts. He was able to put some of the information he has learned to use this episode, even helping install a breathing tube in one person’s neck.

Some insight into Dillard in this episode: Negan wanted Dillard to smash a walker that was outside in the alley of the bar to prove that Negan can rely on him if things hit the fan. Dillard heard the walker ask for him to help it. At the end of the episode, he is having a conversation with one of the walkers he has in his room above the bar he resides in. He hears the woman walker say she loves him, is jealous, and misses him. Pete asks Mike if this is all in Dillard’s head or if the walkers can change back to normal. Listen in on the podcast to find out what Mike had to say.

Where do you see this season going? Mike and Pete talk about how no big bad character has popped up yet this season to be the new evil person to defeat unless the danger is already on the island with the two groups that showed up in this episode.
